One of my favorites!!

One of my favorite passages of Scripture is Isaiah 40:28-31...look it up, even back into verse 26. These are very powerful words. So many times, I have felt weak and tired. That's usually when I'm trying to fix the problem myself or I'm just sitting around worrying about it. But then, God reminds me that He's in control and is taking care of me. Whatever happens in my life is His Will and He has a plan for it. I need to trust Him. Not only will I have strength, that comes directly from God, mind you, but I can do what God wants me to do and I won't be tired or weary of doing it. My advice: wait on the Lord.

Okay...it's your turn. What's your favorite verse, or passage of Scripture and why?

Wow. Tough question. I like a lot. My verse to live by is Isaiah 6:8.
"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?'
And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'"
I guess it's pretty self explanatory why I like it. Isaiah knew he was nothing special, but just by being available he became one of the greatest prophets in the Bible. I want God to use me like that and direct me.

Another one I like is Psalm 94:18-19.
"When I said 'My foot is slipping,'
your love, O Lord, supported me.
When anxiety was great within me,
your consolation brought joy to my soul."
During all the stuff I went through, sometimes I didn't really feel good enough or even have enough energy to read my Bible and actually pay attention to the meaning. Like some days were good, but on others I nearly fell asleep with my dad reading to me. I knew this all along in my heart, and I found this verse soon after I came home from Durham and was feeling good. It just said perfectly what I had felt the whole time, that He knew when I needed comfort and needed to feel His presence. The awesome thing is that part of His love that supported me was shown through the body of Christ. I just love the way that this verse totally conveys God's compassion and love for us when we are weak or scared or sick and He will always be there for us no matter what we go through.
