Thought for the day

Post  Joni Webster on Mon Apr 14, 2008 7:04 pm

It amazes me when I read anything about how God dealt with the people of Israel. They were slaves in Egypt, but God raised up Moses to deliver them. Was that enough? No! They griped and complained and said that they were better off in Egypt. They actually talked about going back!! God showed himself to them through several miracles and they would be happy and excited, waiting for that next miracle to come along. How often do we sit around, waiting for God to do something amazing in our lives when God is waiting for us to take even one step of faith to show that we trust Him? We need to learn to see God in the everyday, mundane things in life. God has a plan for every second of everyday. The Israelites didn't have to worry about what they were going to eat or drink because God provided it for them as they needed it. Why should it be any different today? Do we not serve the same God? Matthew 6:25...think about it.

My thought for the Day

Post  Samantha Hurd on Sat Apr 19, 2008 4:51 am

You have most likely heard the saying "forgive and forget". All my life I have applied it to others and to God, but never to myself.

I would think of it as this...
When someone did something against me, I would "forgive and forget". And I believed (and still do by the way) that God "forgives and forgets" the sin we repent of.

I had a thought today. I ask for forgiveness. And I know that God forgives me and forgets that sin. But I realized I don't forget it. I keep constantly worring that I will do that sin again. And that hinders my relationship with God. And that is NOT good.

From now on I am going to try my best to forget that which God has already forgiven and forgotten. And move on with my life.

Isaiah 1:18 (KJV)
"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; thought they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."

CONCLUSION: After you isolate the sin,
ask for forgiveness,
receieve the forgiveness,
then you most forget the sin.
